CatAmmon
CatAmmon is a deep-tech startup developing novel ceramic catalysts that reduce rare-metal use in automotive emission control systems by more than 50%

About Us
CatAmmon is a deep-tech startup developing CerAmmon, a nano-ceramic catalytic material that enables automotive catalytic converters to reduce platinum-group metal (PGM) loading by more than 50%.
The automotive industry consumes 41% of global Platinum, 81% of Palladium, and 85% of Rhodium supply, exposing OEMs to significant cost volatility and geopolitical supply-chain risks.
CerAmmon is designed as a fully drop-in solution, requiring no changes to existing production lines while enabling potential savings of approximately $150–200 per vehicle and supporting compliance with increasingly stringent emission regulations, including Euro 7 and EPA Tier 4.
CatAmmon is backed by Net Zero Tech Ventures, TotalEnergies, and the Israel Innovation Authority, and is currently advancing validation and joint-development activities with leading global automotive players.
In parallel, CatAmmon is also developing CrackAmmon, a ceramic based, ruthenium catalyst for lower-temperature hydrogen production through ammonia cracking.
Relevant Challenges
Low Emission Enablers
Materials that their incorporation into products facilitates lower operational emissions (e.g. lightweight composites and novel catalysts) or material efficiency (i.e. enabling a lesser amount of material to be used whilst retaining the same function, such as a reinforcement material).
