About Us
Cooling Crops is delivering food security by helping farmers combat land degradation and thermal stress. Our patented sprayable powder delivers a dual-action solution: applied to soil, it restores the natural microbiome and boosts nutrient absorption; applied to plants, it enhances thermal resilience and accelerates growth. Based on a Hebrew University spin-out, our technology has been proved to increase water and nitrogen fixation, strengthen soil, and regulate temperature – improving crop yields and quality while expanding arable land in the face of growing agriculture needs.
Relevant Challenges
Water Scarcity
Unlike conventional irrigation systems that focus solely on water delivery, our approach targets the root cause of water waste: degraded soil structure and excessive evaporation in arid climates. By stabilizing soil moisture and reducing thermal stress, our solution cuts irrigation demand by 21–35% while improving crop resilience to drought and heatwaves.
Crop Resilience
When sprayed on plants, the formulation increases their ability to reflect or absorb heat radiation. This reduces the risk of heat/frost stress, which can otherwise lead to reduced yields or crop failure.
Soil Erosion
Our bio-crusts stabilize sandy substrates by binding particles, improving soil aggregation and leaching efficiency, therefore improving its soil-wind erosion resilience by >80% in treated soils.
