FABUMIN

By repurposing legume industry byproducts into practical, competitive alternatives we adhere to circular economy principles. Additionally, we reduce environmental footprint by dramatically reducing the number of laying hens required for the food market.

About Us

Fabumin helps legume processing plants transform their byproduct (Aquafaba) into a new product:
We have developed a unique, energy-efficient drying technology that can be installed on-site at legume processing facilities (for all types of legumes – chickpeas, beans, soybeans, peas, and more) to convert Aquafaba into an affordable and functional powder for the food industry. This powder serves as an egg substitute, offering excellent binding, emulsification, and foaming properties comparable to eggs, without affecting texture or taste, while completing a circular economy. 1 ton of Fabumin powder = 130,000 eggs

Relevant Challenges

Process

Advances in cellular agriculture (tissue engineering and precision fermentation), plant and biomass based sources for production of alternative proteins and functional ingredients.

Waste Management

Innovations in sorting, recycling and recovery processes and infrastructure for optimal conversion and utilization of waste (biomass and inert materials) for the production of new raw materials.

Biomaterials

Materials generated from a renewable and sustainable bio-based source (including low or carbon negative plant, fungi and algae sources and by-products) as well as waste streams (such as urban and agricultural biowaste and waste-water sludge) and via microbial and enzymatic processes.
