About Us

O2Mg is an Israeli climate-tech company whose patented ammonia-scrubbing process converts SOx emissions from coal power plants and heavy industry into Boussingaultite – a stable, high-value agricultural fertilizer crystal, (NH₄)₂Mg(SO₄)₂·6H₂O, that delivers ammonium, magnesium, and sulfate in a single 3-in-1 nutrient.
Designed as a bolt-on module that integrates into planned or existing wet flue-gas desulfurization (FGD) infrastructure, O2Mg replaces traditional limestone FGD, which carries heavy operating costs and produces low-value gypsum waste, with a system that turns a mandatory compliance cost into a revenue-generating industrial asset.
The company is initially targeting India, where SOx emission mandates have stalled because conventional solutions are too costly for power utilities, and is working with EPC contractors, investors, and fertilizer producers to bring its first pilot facility online.

Relevant Challenges

Resource Recovery

O2Mg recovers a toxic waste stream – SOx emissions from coal power plants and heavy industry, and, using an ammonia-scrubbing module bolted onto existing wet-FGD infrastructure, converts it directly into Boussingaultite, a stable, high-value fertilizer crystal.

Waste Management

By converting captured SOx gas into a marketable ammonium-magnesium-sulfate fertilizer, O2Mg transforms an industrial emission that is normally treated as waste into a new raw material – a nutrient input for agriculture.
