PlantyFuel
PlantyFuel converts agricultural and forestry waste into low-cost, carbon-negative Gen-2 biofuels using patented Technion technology for scalable, sustainable energy production

About Us
PlantyFuel develops a breakthrough process to convert agricultural and forestry waste – such as straw, stover, and wood chips – into low-cost, carbon-negative Gen-2 biofuels. Founded in 2025 by Dr. Gilad Alfassi, Prof. Yachin Cohen, and Yoav Nahmias, the company builds on patented technology developed at the Technion. Our proprietary process enables the first economically viable conversion of lignocellulosic residues into clean ethanol and biodiesel, achieving cost parity with fossil fuels and Gen-1 biofuels while avoiding food or land competition. The technology is scalable and flexible, designed for both large-scale biorefineries and modular on-site systems for farms and greenhouses.By unlocking the value of vast underutilized biomass resources, PlantyFuel addresses two global challenges -agricultural waste management and decarbonization of heavy transport sectors, including aviation, maritime, as well as power generation. Our mission is to make renewable fuels truly accessible, circular, and profitable.
