Primal is a B Corp–certified circular footwear company transforming how hotels, spas, retailers, and travel brands approach slippers, flip-flops, and insoles. Made in Portugal from regenerative cork and proprietary bio-based materials,
Primal’s products combine premium comfort with a significantly lower environmental footprint. The circular cork slippers and insoles are supported by a reverse-logistics system that collects used products and recycles their material into new product layers, while the next-generation Fløps use a mono-material, anti-slip biopolymer design engineered for durability, washability, and responsible end-of-life recyclability.
By replacing conventional synthetic and single-use footwear, Primal helps partners reduce landfill waste, recover valuable materials, and lower reliance on fossil-based inputs — without compromising the guest experience.

Product Design

Primal designs cork and biopolymer footwear specifically for circularity, using a mono-material construction that eliminates weak points to maximize durability and enable recyclability at end of life. By engineering slippers, flip-flops, and insoles for longevity, washability, and responsible end-of-life treatment, Primal keeps materials in use longer and recovers them into new product layers rather than sending them to landfill

Biomaterials

Primal’s products are made from regenerative cork and proprietary bio-based biopolymers: renewable, low-carbon plant-derived materials that replace the fossil-based synthetics conventionally used in footwear
