SolCold
SolCold can be used to cool buildings, cars, food containers, airplanes, electric boxes and many other products requiring cooling in hot weather with minimum environmental impact.

About Us
SolCold, which specializes in the fields of physics and nanoparticles, has developed an innovative coating that becomes cooler with increased sun exposure. The SolCold coating, which is no thicker than a business card, can be applied to the surface of any object. The sun’s radiation then triggers a reaction in the material, converting the heat accumulated in the object into radiation and releasing it in a process known as anti-Stokes fluorescence, thereby creating a cooling effect.
Relevant Challenges
Building Performance
Energy-efficient architecture and innovations leading to performance improvement of buildings such as solar gain control, daylight control, night cooling and insulation.
Low Emission Enablers
Materials that their incorporation into products facilitates lower operational emissions (e.g. lightweight composites and novel catalysts) or material efficiency (i.e. enabling a lesser amount of material to be used whilst retaining the same function, such as a reinforcement material).
