Sphere Technologies
Sphere provides high-density hybrid cooling for AI infrastructure, achieving 90% energy savings and a PUE of 1.02 with zero chemical maintenance

About Us
Sphere is a deep-tech company revolutionizing thermal management for high-density AI infrastructure and heavy industry. Led by a multidisciplinary team of thermodynamic scientists and defense industry veterans, Sphere has developed a proprietary hybrid cooling system based on Micro-Layer Evaporation technology.
The company addresses the critical “heat and energy crisis” facing modern data centers, where traditional chillers struggle to cool powerful AI processors (like NVIDIA H100) efficiently. Sphere’s solution bridges this gap, delivering a near-perfect PUE of 1.02 while reducing energy consumption by ~90% and water usage by ~50% compared to legacy solutions.
Uniquely, Sphere utilizes chemical-free, Reverse Osmosis (RO) treated water with UV sterilization. This approach eliminates scaling, corrosion, and biological risks, offering the industry’s first “Zero-Maintenance” wet cooling solution.
Validated by successful pilots in extreme industrial environments (such as ICL Dead Sea Works), Sphere offers a scalable, capital-efficient infrastructure solution designed specifically for the high-thermal demands of the AI era
Relevant Challenges
Resource Efficiency
Sphere enables resource recovery in energy-intensive manufacturing by transforming cooling from a loss point into an efficiency asset. Its hybrid evaporation system allows recovery and reuse of low-temperature waste heat for secondary applications, while significantly reducing make-up water demand through highly efficient heat transfer and closed-loop operation. By minimizing chemical use and extending system lifetime, Sphere also supports material efficiency and circular operation across industrial cooling infrastructure
Decarbonizing Data Centers
Renewable energy integration, cooling technologies and energy harvesting devices, next generation data storage technologies.
Operational Systems
Sphere delivers a next-generation cooling solution that dramatically reduces the operational costs for high-density buildings such as data centers and industrial facilities. By replacing energy-intensive chillers with a hybrid Micro-Layer Evaporation system, Sphere cuts cooling energy use by ~90%, lowers water consumption by ~50%, and achieves a near-perfect PUE of 1.02, directly improving HVAC efficiency at the system level. Its chemical-free, zero-maintenance design further reduces operational emissions and resource use across the lifetime of the building, making low-carbon cooling viable for the AI era
Energy Efficiency
To combat the soaring energy demands of AI infrastructure, Sphere replaces energy-intensive mechanical compressors with a thermodynamic process based on Micron-Layer Evaporation, achieving a near-perfect PUE of 1.02. This proprietary method creates an ultra-thin liquid film over heat exchangers, amplifying heat transfer efficiency by 20 times and allowing the system to reject massive heat loads using only fans and pumps. The result is a Coefficient of Performance (COP) of 48.2, which translates to a ~90% reduction in electricity consumption compared to legacy chillers, turning cooling from a massive operational burden into a sustainable, low-energy process
